Early College Experience (ECE) meeting with German teachers from across CT

German teachers from across the state met at UConn on Thursday, May 16, 2019, to discuss interdisciplinary programming in German at the High School level and to start a network that integrates ECE at UConn with the state’s AATG chapter. ECE German Studies programs from E.O. Smith HS, Cheshire HS, Staples HS and East Lyme HS collaborated with teachers from Greenwich HS and Wilton HS to talk about integrating STEM and business into the German curriculum, how to educate towards creating interculturally adept students, address program building possibilities and share experiences and ideas.

The program was directed by Anke Finger, with presentations by Brandy Nelson (School of Business) and Niko Tracksdorf (University of Rhode Island).

Participating teachers: Laura Hanley (East Lyme High), Christine Higgins (Wilton High), Liubov Ulianova (Staples High), Sarah Smith & Stefanie Wille (EO Smith High), Kristin Haase & Angela Gulielmetti (Cheshire High), and Margret Callahan & Wendy Schmidt (Greenwich High).
