It was a distinct honor to welcome the new Consul General of Germany Achim Fabig from the German Consulate General Boston to the University of Connecticut on October 7th! Our long-standing ties through the Connecticut/Baden-Württemberg partnership since 1989 are further strengthening with QuantumCT, the newly established Connecticut-Germany Trade Commission, and UConn’s membership in the German American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. – GACC New York. Pamir Alpay, JC Zhao, Robert Day plus many other representatives from UConn College of Engineering, University of Connecticut School of Business and UConn College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Experiential Global Learning and graduate students and undergraduates from German Studies celebrated the occasion. Given the German Studies Program approach with Integrated Humanities and Intercultural Citizenship, we are building networks that reach far beyond the campus. Plans and collaborations are already in the making, and we look forward to a lively exchange and mutual support!
