Emerson Fenc @ the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation: Internship Portrait

Hello! My name is Emerson and I am currently majoring in History, Human Rights and German. My internship while working here in Germany is for the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation which has a focus on ending child marriage and workplace exploitation. While the internship is remote, one of the interesting elements of my time so far has been fact comparisons of children in focus countries compared to that of Germany, i..e, amount federally spent per child in education. The majority of my work will center around one of our newer initiatives, 100 Million – The Global Campaign, which seeks to draw in youth activists all over the world in advocating for themselves and their peers’ rights and liberties. I am hopeful that this opportunity will open more doors to my interest of advocacy that I then might be able to apply here in Germany!
