As an expert on intercultural awareness in applied linguistics, Prof. Wagner is adding another research accomplishment to her many international activities: she has taken on the co-editorship of a new book series with Springer, Plurilingual and Intercultural Epistemologies: Critical Research, Education and Civic Action. together with Manuela Guilherme, Charbel El-Hani, and Gunther Dietz.
“This series invites proposals for monographs and edited volumes, providing an interdisciplinary and transnational space for critical plurilingual, intercultural and inter-epistemic exploration of research topics and educational practices.
The volumes in this series aim to highlight ways in which knowledge is generated reciprocally and multilaterally, characterized by the cross-fertilization of languages and cultures, and are ethically based on the principle of epistemological equity. The series features mutual creation of knowledge through partnerships directed at improving the quality of life in communities, on their own terms.
The series aims to contribute to the development of inter-epistemic communities that can cross borders not only among disciplinary fields, but also between the academy and civil society, working across different world regions, languages, cultures and epistemologies. The ground-breaking character of the series lies in its coordinators’ ambition to tackle the often neglected plurilingual, intercultural and cross-epistemic issues currently emerging in transnational education and research. The book proposals should therefore be aligned with most of the following characteristics: epistemological diversity; a dialogical perspective; a rootedness in local practices; interdisciplinarity-in-praxis; mixed-methods approaches to pedagogy and research; perspectives that ‘decolonise’ knowledge creation.”
Congratulations!!!
